Alcatel POP 4 (6) can attract the attention of smartphone users, especially those with a 6-inch screen.

Alcatel POP 4 (6), which is offered to 6-inch phone callers, is on our whole test bed …

Alcatel, with its new smartphone series, offers a variety of options for users in our country. If you remember before, we evaluated POP 4S, Idol 4 and Shine Lite. This time again with POP 4 6 inch model from Alcatel’s POP family. Now let’s look at the design of the phone first, then move on to the details.

Alcatel Pop 4 (6) Review

The Alcatel POP 4 (6) is a phone with a metallic rear body. The handset has a metallic gray color model and also has metallic slate and gold color options.

The phone we like with the quality of the material is made up of a 7.9 mm thick hoop. The rounded sides of the rear body, called the 2.5D, make it look slimmer than the phone itself. In this sense, we liked the phone design.

But POP 4 (6) is not a suitable model for everyone. Having a 6 inch screen on it means that it has a wide body. The phone, which is 160 mm long, is 81 mm wide, making it difficult to use in one hand. But the fact that the screen frames are kept relatively thin, at the same time it gives a good screen-to-body ratio.

Despite having an area under the screen, the phone uses virtual buttons instead of physical buttons. While the power and volume buttons are located on the right side of the phone, the microSD card and SIM card slots are also available on the left drawer.

The phone also has a headset jack. You can use the headphone jack, which you can find in the upper right corner, with the headphones coming out of the box. At the bottom of the phone we also see the microUSB slot and speaker grille. The speaker is not double sided, only the sound from the right side. So the loudspeaker in the phone on hand is used as mono.

If we were to take a quick look at the immediate back, we would see a double-tone double LED flash with a single camera on the upper edge. In the middle of the phone, the fingerprint reader is shown with the alcatel logo. At this point, let’s say that the fingerprint reader works well.

Display and operating system

Alcatel Pop 4 (6) Review

POP 4 (6) has a 6 inch screen. The phone, which produces a full HD resolution display with a 6-inch screen, can be distinguished from Alcatel’s previous POP 4S model. If you remember, the POP 4S had a 5.5-inch screen. We can say that almost all the other features out there are close to each other on both phones; we will refer to it when it is already transmitting the technical staff of the phone.

The phone has an IPS panel as well as a full HD display, so the view is good. We also liked color saturation and screen brightness. You can make some adjustments as you want on the screen. You can change the color temperature, you can use the blue light filter.

However, in POP 4 (6), the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system is being used. On a simple interface phone, some applications are installed. These include applications such as Turkcell TV +, BiP, lifebox, fizy. You can remove them if you like.

Technical staff and performance

The Alcatel POP 4 (6) is a mid-range smartphone. The phone, powered by an 8-core processor, offers us the MT6755 processor chip, also remembered from the POP 4S – also known as the Mediatek Helio P10. 4 The Cortex-A53 core is 1.8 GHz and the other 4 core is running at 1.0 GHz, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. But that’s not enough capacity. You also feel this in the general use of the phone. If this phone as well as at least 3 GB of RAM are available on the phone, it would be possible to have a more streamlined experience. Because on the phone there is about 600 MB of idle RAM in general. This will often cause you to unload the RAM.

Oh, it does not prevent you from using social media applications or surfing the internet. However, at the same time, you experience performance degradation in situations where you are using multiple applications and crossing between applications.

The phone’s gaming performance is not good for games with high graphics power. In games such as Asphalt 8, you can see frame jumps. However, you will not experience any problems with Temple Run and the game of the derivative.

Let’s also share the benchmark scores from POP 4 (6). The score we obtained from AnTuTu Benchmark is 46832 points, while in Geekbench 4 we have 724 points in one core and 2743 points in many cores. That puts the phone side by side with the Kaan N1, ZTE Axon 7 mini, POP 4S, Huawei P9 Lite and Xperia C5 Ultra that we have already seen.

The phone’s storage capacity is 16 GB. That’s enough capacity for a phone in this class. Of course, you can increase memory by microSD card. The upper limit is 32 GB.

Perhaps the most favorite side of the technical staff was the battery. After 25 hours of music streaming with daily email checking, social networking, messaging, camera, and a few hours of music streaming, the battery in the evening was still at 25 percent. A battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh makes it easy to take out the day.

Before we close this section, let’s talk about connections. The phone has 4.5G support. Bluetooth 4.1 is being used. LTE support is also available in category 4 (150/50 Mbit / s). Again on the Wi-Fi side you can connect to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. But the phone does not have NFC support.

Alcatel POP 4 (6) is surprisingly good with the cameras on it. Of course it does not match top-level phones, but it can be positioned really well between middle-class pockets. The phone, which we liked the color balance of the photographs taken, has a sensor of 13 MP size on the back. The front camera is held at 5 MP.

The rear camera features autofocus and continuous focus. Full HD video can also be recorded on the phone, which also has 4x digital zoom capability. Again, we see that the camera is supported by double-tone double LED flash.

With your phone, you get good results especially in daylight. In addition, the macro phone does not produce bad results, selfie shooting is so successful. Camera interface is rather limited. It could be further elaborated.
