I’m quite surprised skimming is possible here, I thought they had a asymmetric key exchange making skimming pointless? Perhaps, they found a bug.
They are not skimming the Oyster Card itself - they skim the credit card when the user pays at a TFL ticket machine.
David is right in that skimming an Oyster Card would be pointless.
Sorry that link was quite misleading, even reading it again and again, it implies that oyster card is vulnerable. Here’s a better article
