If you are looking for a MU-MIMO-capable top-of-the-line modem router that offers dual-band support and supports speeds of up to 600 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band, they can evaluate the TP-Link Archer VR2800.

We are reviewing Archer VR2800, the upper segment member of the TP-Link Archer family.

Whether you want to build a powerful Wi-Fi infrastructure for your home or office, you need a strong directioner. For this, it would be the most logical option to use dual-band networking technology, have 802.11ac technology, offer VDSL2 support and carry gigabit ports.

Especially in the last period, the market has been enriched in this sense. Modems and routers that offer top shirt features can be seen on the market under different brands. There is no need to look at the technical specification sheets to distinguish them from other models. They are now making themselves known with their rising antennas and designs. The VR2800 in the Archer family of TP-Link is also one of them.

The Archer VR2800 is a router that can house a large number of devices at the same time, covering the entire office or home. We will look at their specifications and their offerings; but first let’s get to know the VR2800 by design.

Design

TP-Link Archer VR2800 Review

Archer VR2800 has a very stylish structure. In fact, we have already studied a similar model with its design. The Archer VR2600 is the predecessor of the VR2800. The new model, of course, is faster than its predecessor. However, they are quite similar to each other in design.

The Archer VR2800 also has a pretty nice structure with its design. The device is colored with bright piano black, the top surface is still flat and the other part is embroidered. You do not have to hide it under the table or behind the cabinet on this one. Let it in the middle, in the most visible place.

Of course, the most striking aspect of the device is the 4 huge antennas rising above it. The device, which provides a large network area with power amplifiers, also brings us the beaming, the Beamforming feature. In this way, the device that detects the location of the devices connected to it allows the connection network to slip into this area.

When we look at the back of the VR2800, we see three gigabit ports here. There is also a gigabit WAN port here. On the side, the device offers USB 3.0 connections, which means that those who want to include their drives and printers in the network are able to do so.

Performance

TP-Link Archer VR2800 Review

The Archer VR2800 is a powerful device that offers powerful features. Delivering VDSL broadband speeds up to 100Mbps with VDSL2 technology, the Archer VR2800 is basically compatible with VDSL2, ADSL2 +, ADSL2 and ADSL.

The VR2800, powered by a dual-core Broadcom 1GHz processor that comes face-to-face with such powerful directors, also offers the MU-MIMO feature. Multi-User, Multi-user Multi In, Multi Out, this feature allows the device to send and receive versatile data to multiple users at the same time. Traditional directors are more likely to be single-user confrontations. Of course, the only model that offers this system on the market is not the device in your possession; we can now find this feature on top shirts.

Accessing the 600Mbps wireless speed in the 2.4 GHz band, the Archer VR2800 can reach 2167Mbps in the 5GHz channel. Of course, these are theoretical speeds. You will not get these speeds through a single device. But the one thing we did with the test is that the results we get on the 15-inch MacBook Pro are pretty impressive.

The device we obtained 102 MB / s (816 Mbits / s) from the near distance download test gave us 11.2 MB / s (89.6 Mbits / s) in the long range test. Yes, we can say average for long range of the device, but close range performance is really satisfactory.

If we share the value we receive from the USB ports, we can specify that we have a sequential reading performance of 44.6 MB / s. This is a good value if you will be backing up over the network.
